- The proper term for a "starchy tuber on stem of plants" is "stem tuber" (an LA example is potato – "potatoes are large tubers that grow from the ends of underground stems")
- LA's def of 块根 implies that they are *tuberous roots* (e.g sweet potato, radish, yam) – NOT tubers *on* roots. The botanical term is "root tuber".
