So you say - "He stood up on finishing his lunch." rather than "He stood up on eating his lunch." - "He turned back on reaching the end of the trail." rather than "He turned back on walking to the end of the trail." A's definition is rather lame ~ "to retreat" NC is much better, suggesting "run away on the eve of battle" for 临阵逃脱. |
