"feel hopelessly worried"? -- more like *needlessly* worried, isn't it?

"get in trouble for imaginary fears"? -- I don't think it's about getting into trouble for having imaginary fears
(maybe "getting *oneself* into trouble *because of* (not *for*) one's imaginary fears")
(I'm being rhetorically disingenuous here, of course.)

Men hold that the feminist movement's proposal that "housewives should have a paid post" is much ado about nothing.

Are "illnesses" such as depression, hyper-activity, obesity, baldness, and impotence inventions? Are their victims simply making trouble for themselves? Some people think so. Though their reasoning may not be sound, there's no denying that some illnesses have been "manufactured" by the market and spread by advertising and the media.

With recent advances in the study of cranial nerves, medical scholars have confirmed that the feelings of discomfort and anxiety produced by dysautonomia do indeed have biological causes; it is not due to people creating their own problems or complaining about nothing, as some doctors and family members claim. Treatments should be targeted at both body and mind, rather than merely where it hurts.

Comic critic Hung Teh-lin notes that 1970 presented a window of opportunity in Taiwan's comic industry. Old Master Q arrived at the right time to fill a spiritual void in readers. Alfonso Wong was particularly adept at grasping the readers' changing moods and at exaggerating major events in his comics. His off-the-wall humor and depictions of people creating trouble for themselves started a new trend in the comics.
