<< review queue entry 47438 - submitted by 'ycandau' >> about this recently processed entry. Slacka added "benefit", which I think is quite right and in fact the only sense I know. But when I read this entry I don't get any idea what the word means. That's because: - "well-being" is probably off (or my English is lacking) - "(material) welfare" is unevocative to me; - "benefits" makes me think of a financial thing or smth. As slacka pointed out it's often said of "job benefits", advantages attached to a job. I see that nciku has "material benefit", I don't know if that's correct English, but obviously aiming at the same thing. Myself I would have said "benefit in kind", again, not sure if my English is right here. I don't know if it corresponds to any sense of "welfare". English natives welcome here :-) Editor: Yves' suggestion seems good for now. There maybe more to say about it at a later date. |
