<< review queue entry 51336 - submitted by 'monigeria' >> 笑点低 seems to be a popular phrase recently I was going to add it - but this should be enough for people to figure out what 笑点低 is. baidu baike 笑点的含义 ①又叫J点（从Joke简化而来），指一个笑话之所以好笑的关键。 例：这个笑话没有笑点，大家听得莫名其妙。 this obviously means punchline ②又叫笑商，指一个人发笑的能力下限。 first time I've run across "笑商" but I quite like it -- hence the humor quotient (HQ)/laughter quotient (LQ) definitions I've also heard people say things like 美剧的笑点不怎么搞笑 which is more about the humor -- or the things people laugh at... looked on baidu after typing that 如何发现并理解美剧中的笑点? 看美剧的人笑点也太低了点吧 美剧的笑点跟不上啊' this doesn't exactly fit "punchline" -- so "joke" was the best I could come up with... punchline is the only definition I'm 100% certain about joke/humor quotient (HQ)/laughter quotient (LQ) can all be changed to something more fitting - if there is anything -------------------------------------------------------------- Editor: I've put in a sub for 笑点低 to cover the other sense of 笑点. |
