<< review queue entry 44999 - submitted by 'richwarm' >> 1) missing apostrophe ~ collector's 2) What is meant by "synonymous with corruption"? I don't understand that part of the definition. Is 白銀書 a homonym of a word that means corruption? Is it a gift that is used as a corrupt payment? Or is it *symbolic* of corruption (the sort of book only the corrupt can afford)? 3) 黄金书 (not in cedict) seems to be synonymous with 白银书 http://www.360doc.com/content/09/0726/11/0_4458481.shtml 4) There is something wrong with the expression "meant as" here. It suggests that the book could be mistaken for an ordinary, non-collector's-item book. I would prefer "ornately printed book produced as a collector's item ..." Note the usage of "meant as" in these examples. In each case, there is a suggestion that the thing could be mistaken for something else, or turned out to be something else: - Monument Meant as Bridge Creates a Gulf Instead - Were FIL's loans meant as gifts? - hopefully wasn't meant as an invasion of personal space - These examples are meant as suggestions and tips only, and are not meant to be exhaustive |
