<< review queue entry 47369 >> MoE 冒昧 → 鹵莽 → 粗魯 Dr. Eye 粗魯 rough; rude; impolite; boorish -------------------------------------------------------------------- Editor: Faulty reasoning — "rude" could be used in the definition of 粗魯, where the other glosses guide the user as to which sense of "rude" is intended (lacking refinement or delicacy), but "boorish" would be a more targeted addition to the entry ("rude" is relatively polysemous). In the other two entries (冒昧 and 魯莽), it's just wrong. In general, it's not wise to follow a sequence of dictionary entries A→B→C and then apply a gloss for C to both A and B. To state the obvious, those arrows are unidirectional: they are not "equals" signs. |
