The pinyin is capitalized in this case, because 創世紀 is a name (a proper noun). "Chinese creation myth" is a generic reference to creation myths originating in China. Nor does in belong in entry #1: that word is a generic reference to creation myths, not necessarily Chinese ones. By the way, you have previously written that entry #1 "can be read as being very offensive to people of many different faiths that use and believe the Creation story in Genesis". Presumably you think it's offensive because you think "myth" only means "a widely held but false belief or idea". If so, the fact that you are prepared to call non-Christian creation narratives "Chinese creation myths" seems hypocritical. In fact, "myth" also means "a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people." |
