<< review queue entry 50210 - submitted by 'brianlawrence' >> 自唐言禅者寖广。 From the Tang era onward, the discussion of the Chan became ever more widespread. "Gradually" seems to be the more common meaning; I had to look in several dictionaries before I found a reference to 寖 meaning "to soak," and that meaning might be restricted to a few compounds, like 寖染. (One reference gave the pronunciation qin1 for "gradually," by the way.) --------------- Editor: Z: 古同“浸”,浸渍。 M: 漸漸。同「浸」。 |
