anticlimax
1. (Rhetoric) The opposite of climax: the addition of a particular which, instead of heightening the effect, suddenly lowers it or makes it ludicrous.
2. By extension: A descent or fall in contrast to a previous rise.

apocalypse
1. The ‘revelation’ of the future granted to St. John in the isle of Patmos.
2. By extension: Any revelation or disclosure.

ballot
Originally: a small coloured ball placed in a container to register a secret vote; (hence, by extension) a ticket, paper, etc., so used.

bin
colloq. To put in a waste-bin; to throw away; hence, by extension, to discard.
