<< review queue entry 49552 >> Everyone in China knows him, mostly because of Mao Zedong's 《别了,司徒雷登》 which is studied in middle school. Some people hate him, some people adore him, but nevertheless everyone has heard of him. He is notable for being one of the first Westerners to speak native Chinese having grown up in China, but too much meddling in the sensitive politics of the time made him fall from grace.
