<< review queue entry 49314 - submitted by 'brianlawrence' >> Found in a geography book. One of two islands and one peninsula of Macao. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taipa I had some trouble finding a reliable reference for the reading of 仔 -- it's not in any of my paper Chinese dictionaries. The best I could do was the Wikipedia page above (and an answer on an internet forum). I thought I once saw an official list of pronunciations of characters in place names, put out by the (PRC) government, but I can't find it now. Where does one look up such things? Editor: not sure where one could look up such things. Would be good to know, though! By the way, we already have an entry for 氹仔, which I think should do. |
