None, really. I think you either misunderstood your teacher, or the teacher's explanation was wrong. 治愈 is indeed "a little different" from 治療, but it's the entry for 治療 that needs changing, rather than 治愈.In a similar vein, we recently deleted "cure" from the def for 治 and replaced it with "treat". E-C dictionaries do include "cure" in their defs for 治疗, 医治 and 治; I think that's at best misleading. N defines 医治 as 治疗, and I claim that 治疗 is about treatment – not (necessarily) cure. 医治 [yīzhì] (动) 治疗 治疗见效 respond well to treatment; 病人得到及时治疗 receive timely treatment; 对病人及时治疗 give timely treatment; 精神治疗 psychotherapy; 住院治疗 be hospitalized Even in a case like 新治疗法 – which one dict translates as "new cure" – can probably be better understood as "new method of treatment". |
