GT gives 奶油 as #1 suggestion for "cream" and #2 suggestion for "butter". And I conjecture that prefixing 生 or 鲜 (to make the words 生奶油 and 鲜奶油) is simply a way of narrowing the meaning of 奶油 down to the unchurned ("raw" or "fresh") version of the stuff (i.e. cream). |
