<< review queue entry 45451 - submitted by 'richwarm' >> The literal meaning is pretty obvious and "block the ears and eyes" is not a good rendering (that sounds like blocking one's own ears and eyes) It's more like "block people's ears and eyes" "dissimulate" seems off "surreptitious" is an adjective and as such doesn't seem very appropriate "hoodwink" and "deceive" suggest that this is sth that might be applicable when a con artist picks on some individual. Actually, it's about deceiving *people*, not deceiving an individual. |
