For example, you will find quotes like this: "8.有一批口语中的双音节词的后一个音节，习惯上读轻声如：葡萄、模糊、先生、太阳、耳朵、关系。" – presumably from sources that have wide circulation in the PRC. 4) If you Google "关系" 读轻声 you'll find a lot of native opinions in favor of qingsheng 5) Editor goldyn_chyld commented "never hear guan1xi4" 6) Respectable dictionaries such as FLTRP's New Century say it's neutral tone etc. etc. I'm not saying it's wrong to say xi4 or that you will never hear xi4, but it's ludicrous to suggest pinyin changes based on "Guifan says so" as your entire argument. |
