Did you try Googling 効? Try again. All I get IS Japanese websites when I look up 効, so your "claim" is certainly questionable. But ok, since it's also listed in KX and in the 第一批异体字整理表 as a deprecated variant of 效<効傚>, it may be ok *not* to list it as a Japanese variant, since it was apparently used in China long ago. |
