To me, the current entry is saying that 粟米 is used in Mandarin (otherwise it shouldn't be in CEDICT) and that it has come into Mandarin largely or wholly as a result of the influence of Cantonese. The "Cantonese" (or "dialect") tag also suggests that 粟米 hasn't established itself to such an extent that it has supplanted 玉米. "not Cantonese specific" ? Bottom line: You haven't convinced me that the "Cantonese" tag is wrong. |
