Acc, to Google, seems to be common in pop song lyrics.
Translates Korean 가슴에 멍이 들다.

Editor: Not only in songs ~
八年抗戰,國破家亡,老兵們固然恨透了日本人,但其後同樣慘酷、「中國人打中國人」的國共內戰,更傷透了這些老兵的心。
"Over the course of the eight years' fighting against the Japanese the country was decimated and the veterans of that war came to thoroughly despise the Japanese. However, the bitter civil war between the Nationalists and Communists that followed, with Chinese fighting Chinese, hurt them even deeper."

I think 傷透了心 is readily understood in terms of 伤透, which is 伤(to hurt) + 透(verb-suffix: thoroughly, deeply, completely). We already have some examples such as 恨透 and 乾透, as well as adjectival constructions like 烂透 and 坏透. Well, I guess we can have one more.

On the other hand, we don't yet have 傷透腦筋, which I see as a little more idiomatic, so I will submit that as "to find sth to be a real headache; to rack one's brains".
Diff:
# 傷透了心 伤透了心 [shang1 tou4 le5 xin1] /to break sb's heart/to wound (psychologically)/
+ 傷透 伤透 [shang1 tou4] /to break (sb's heart)/to cause grief to/
