<< review queue entry 43101 - submitted by 'richwarm' >> I processed this (rejected as a construct) but monigeria would like to have it reconsidered. What do others think? 如果是局外人,那就是outsider http://www.baidu.com/s?tn=monline_5_dg&ie=utf-8&bs=%E8%BE%B9%E7%BC%98%E4%BA%BA+%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87&f=8&rsv_bp=1&rsv_spt=3&wd=%E8%BE%B9%E7%BC%98%E4%BA%BA+outsider&rsv_sug3=2&rsv_sug=0&rsv_sug1=2&rsv_sug4=104&inputT=1509 ”关于社会体制边缘人(Outsider)“ ================================= My comments ~ A 邊緣人 is just what you'd expect from its composition 邊緣+人 -- a person from the 邊緣 (the fringe, the margins). The absence of a level informational playing field forces the visually challenged to the margins of the job market and their professional careers. Moreover, they were to make every effort to integrate themselves into the local culture and to minister to the needs of marginalized people. You could tell that some were from the margins of society, ... ====================================== monigeria's further comments ~ Sorry just want to add some notes on this entry because I don't believe it's as simple as a compostion (this is at least what I've been told by several Chinese people). Perhaps also my notes weren't detailed enough. Guifan (thank you pleco) has the entry as this: 百度百科:http://baike.baidu.com/view/114727.htm first says that this is a: 心理学名词 so this is also a professional word in Psychology...not just a simple composition...also mentions the following:边缘人这一概念最早由德国心理学家K·勒提出,泛指对两个社会群体的参与都不完全,处于群体之间的人。 So yeah it has a surface meaing and it also has a more, fully-developed, meaning also. You can have a look at the rest of the article to confirm this. Sorry if i'm being too 计较 or 龟毛 here... but I think this word deserves to be reviewed again. thanks for checking it out. ========= One more example from TP ~ 國家社會有責任負擔起類似植物人或社會邊緣人、弱勢族群的照養工作。 The nation and society have responsibility for these patients and others on the margins of society, and a responsibility to care for the weak. Editor: On reconsideration, we decided that it's worth having an entry for 邊緣人. |
