"natural childbirth" (not labor) is indeed in Wp; but there is no equivalent Chinese article, that's not true; and it's a restricted sense, which is not that of the Chinese word. That HYDCD def is just sloppy. "natural" as opposed to what? artificially-induced? surgical operation? In fact they just searched for a synonym of 順 and said 自然: which is possible in Chinese (自然 easy, uncomplicated) but no longer in English. Check a few sentences: ... 以避免危險及祈求順產 she is not praying for natural labor. 47歲的蔡一智再度榮升爸爸，太太前晚順產 they are simply saying that everything went all right. I am comforted by MoE: 婦人平安順利生產 and N: 胎儿头朝下经母体阴道自然生产出来(跟"难产"相区别)。也说平产 i.e. opposed to "difficult childbirth", which generally means medical intervention. |
