In fact, as I am ignorant of this word (possibly more Northern), I would have read huzhao in many examples. I expect the word is a bit northern colloquial. Take the first instance: 我可是能护着你，疼你呢 He could have said: 我可是能保護你，疼你呢 (no 着 is grammatically necessary) but he didn't say: 我可是能护着你，疼着你呢 (疼着 is not a word) Also, another dict (A) agrees that it's a word, marking it as "colloquial" and giving the example 他用手護著眼睛。 He shielded his eyes with his hands. |
