It's often used jokingly, teasing sb for being lucky, but not always used as teasing I guess. Here are some other definitions: http://baike.baidu.com/view/288636.htm Editor: I'm not really happy with the various translations suggested here and elsewhere, except for "lucky bastard", which seems pretty good as an equivalent exclamation -- although, strictly speaking, 狗屎运 is about the circumstances rather than the person. I think there is probably something else out there that we can use, but for now, I'll process it as "lucky bastard". "fortune favors fools" is apt, but is too literary, too far from being slang, like 狗屎运. |
