Web example: "Any security handover between different units must be planned, coordinated, and rehearsed, at least on a sand table." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It's not to "plan methodology", but "to rehearse a planned action or activity". Despite their sometimes ludicrous definitions, dict.cn sometimes manages to hit the mark (in this case, with "dry running") where nobody else seems to have a good English definition. Some examples ~ 1) 開庭前與委託人沙盤推演 before going to trial he practiced posing questions to his clients 2) 去年暑假更在沙盤推演周詳的情況下學著放手,讓14歲的洪輔獨自出國,在芝加哥轉機,前往美國的羅德島尋找朋友。 Last summer, she learned even more to "let go" when -- after detailed planning -- she allowed her 14-year-old son to get on a jetliner by himself, change planes in Chicago, and fly on alone to visit friends in Rhode Island. 3) 儘管兩隊名廚前一天不眠不休、整夜沙盤推演,設計多種不同材料搭配的菜式,... 4) 總是從數字管理開始,進行現象分析、預測未來,並做各種沙盤推演。 I always start with number crunching, and proceed with analysis and projections for the future, and plan for every contingency. 5) 在執行階段時,需先對單位主管進行沙盤推演,教導主管在進行裁員行動時,各種異狀、或突發狀況的應對與解決方法。 |
