I don't think "prance" is a good word for it.
It tends to bring to mind trained horses walking with a slow, exaggerated springy step.

M ~ 奔馳、跳躍
N ~ 马仰头快跑
MS ~ (马奔跑) gallop; dash

I imagine it's like in this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LWoddi_pN4
"Horses feeling frisky in this great weather. They ran around and were playing after all the buckets of rain we got for a month. LOL"

Also
M ~ 高舉
N ~ 上仰;举起

I suppose this sense comes from the way a horse holds up its head and raises its forelegs high when running friskily
Diff:
- 驤 骧 [xiang1] /prance (as a horse)/
# 驤 骧 [xiang1] /(literary) (of a horse) to run friskily/to raise/to hold high/
+ 驤 骧 [xiang1] /(literary) to run friskily (of a horse)/to raise/to hold high/
