I think "to engage in introspection" is terrible English, and the whole thing is rather off. 反省 is smth you essentially do when you have been in the wrong. Editor: Agree with comments about "engage in introspection". That phrase appears in various "sources", including FLTRP, nciku's Comprehensive Chinese-English Dictionary, and ABC. Our whole definition "to engage in introspection; soul-searching" is, in fact, identical to ABC's. |
