<< review queue entry 40268 >> missing trad Editor: It's incorrect to assume that 伙 isn't a trad character, just because 伙 is used as the simp, and 夥 may be used as the trad. Both 伙 and 夥 are trad characters, variants of each other. In my Taiwanese EC dictionary, for example, 小伙子 appears in eight entries, such as > stripling = 小伙子, 年輕人 > whippersnapper = 小伙子 and 小夥子 appears in only one entry. Google results ~ > "小伙子" site:.tw About 1,950,000 results > "小夥子" site:.tw About 149,000 results Also, 小伙子 appears in the (Taiwanese) Dr.eye dictionary but not 小夥子. The following CEDICT entries document the fact that 夥 and 伙 are variants for the "companion; partner" sense ~ > 伙 伙 [huo3] /meals (abbr. for 伙食[huo3 shi2])/variant of 夥|伙[huo3]/ > 夥 伙 [huo3] /companion/partner/group/classifier for groups of people/to combine/together/ Therefore, we don't require entries for both 小夥子 and 小伙子 as the trad. |
