And if you look at GI for 水龙管 you see pipes and tubes. A fire hose is a 消防水龙 or a 灭火水龙管道, and of course 水龙 might be used as an abbreviation of those. Karan presumably copied "fire engine" from ABC, which has that in its def, but I can find very little to support that sense.
