Editor: verbose, I am aware; and not absolutely accurate. But as long as we have this
construct, we can try to explain it. It's rather restricted in use.

All of J examples but one fall under this meaning. The one sentence and your
Maodun example do point to another use, which doesn't correspond to the basic def
of 撩; I would have understood if the cloth had been lying on the bed and hanging
down to the floor.
