not sure of my English here. Often abbr to 函办 =================================================== Resubmitted because of hesitation about meaning. On the one hand, the presence of 函 seems strange. And I found one person to say: but another says succinctly: This very official site: http://www.4pppc.gov.tw/web_4/modules/news/index.php?storytopic=0&storynum=25 uses repeatedly 移(函)送法辦 like another site which has: 犯罪嫌疑人移(函)送法辦者,移(函)送單位於發文移(函)送翌日起幾日內,將該移(函) 送(報告)書電子檔上傳內政部警政署刑事警察局?(A)半日(B)... And on the other hand, I find many examples like 警方将她函送法办。 which seem to imply that the person was physically arrested. And the same news item is sometimes described as 函送法办, sometimes as 移送法办. http://www.4pppc.gov.tw/web_4/modules/news/index.php?storytopic=0&storynum=25 On the whole I will leave these two words with the same definition, and a rather non-committal one, although it is clear that many people take this as being simply "to be arrested by the police" |
