<< review queue entry 39798 >> nciku, dict.cn, 辞海, 国语辞典 Editor: Although the character 鏡 suggests that this is something done in front of a lens, and dictionary definitions reflect that too, I find in examples that it's not necessarily the case. So I think "audition" is good. But 試鏡 is a verb as well as a noun, so I am making it "to audition". This is also good, I think, because it can be something that the *director* does or something that an *actor* does, as is the case in Chinese. Also, 試鏡 appears to be something that models do too, not just actors ~ 1) 试镜前,模特需精神饱满,衣着整洁,尽量接近生活中的形象。 2) 在世界各地穿梭试镜和表演的模特们没有固定的家。 In modelling there is a specific term "go-see" for an audition, but I guess "audition" will do in our def. Here are a couple of other examples. In the first one, the child is presumably not there for a "screen test" (hence the use of "tryout" in the translation) ~ 最後一個「孩子」展區,則設置了西班牙館的秘密武器──高達6.5公尺的「小米寶寶」,這個像極可愛嬰兒 的巨型機器娃娃,原型其實是西班牙一名8個月大的嬰兒。一年前,負責「孩子」展區的女導演伊莎貝爾.庫 伊謝特(電影《東京聲音地圖》導演)在巴塞隆納進行了兩次試鏡,才從40名8個月到1歲大的寶寶中選中了 這位現場評審公認最愛笑、最有人緣的寶寶。 The final space-"Children"-contains the Spanish Pavilion's secret weapon: a 6.5-meter-tall "Baby Miguelin." This extremely cute giant mechanical baby was based on an eight-month-old actual Spanish baby. The director responsible for this room-Isabel Coixet (director of Map the Sounds of Tokyo)-twice held tryouts in Barcelona, picking Miguelin from among 40 babies in the age range of eight months to a year. Miguelin is known for being very agreeable and for loving to laugh. 我的第一份工作就是在TVBS,電視台記者的甄選第一關是試鏡 My first job was at TVBS. The first hurdle for being selected as a television reporter was a screen trial in front of the camera. |
