I hear this a lot. concerning the last interrogation about 泳裤: - I can't believe that a native speaker doesn't know "swim trunks" (or swimming trunks), that's standard English; - 泳裤 is a generic word, from swimming shorts to speedos; I hear that in the US, "swim trunks" are specifically swimming shorts. This however can only be since that new fashion emerged. |
