<< review queue entry 39293 >> 绿 has two readings. Typically the character is read as lü4 meaning green most of the time, but in this rare case the vowel is not fronted and the character is read as lu4. Also making Ya1lu4 one word no spaces is more in line with Pinyin spelling conventions for proper nouns, those spacing is not an exact science, Yalu Jiang is much more common than the seperated form Editor: Yālù Jiāng is the correct Pinyin, but we are constrained by the CC-CEDICT formatting convention whereby there must be a space between each syllable, and tones must be indicated by numerals. |
