<< review queue entry 38476 - submitted by 'richwarm' >> [bei3 fa2] --> [Bei3 fa2] It was in *1928* that Chiang's forces took Beijing. As far as I can determine, there was no entity known as the Northern Warlords. The rule of local warlords was by no means limited to the north of China. Spelling: "Chiang Kai-shek" (with hyphen) seems to be pretty standard. If an entry for 北伐战争 is retained it should just say "see 北伐" Editor: this could be discussed. It's not unusual to speak of the northern warlords, as opposed to the southern KMT. The history of the period is a bit confused, but Jiang had to fight distinct and powerful entities which were the official government, not various minor warlords who refused the official rule. |
