Editor: ABC has twice as many entries as CEDICT but we would regard a lot of them as constructs, and this is one example of that. 氣 is a verb which means "to get angry" or "to make angry". e.g. 我故意气他一下。I got him angry on purpose. Adding 瘋 simply means to make sb angry to the point that they go mad, so to speak. Similarly, you could add 死 after 气, as in 老公的控制欲强到快把我气死怎么办？ However, our definition of 气 doesn't make it clear that it can mean "make angry". It says "to anger", which is commonly used intransitively. So I am updating that entry. "R.V." stands for "resultative verb", by the way. |
