Editor: as I have said before, this is archeology, not
lexicography. In such cases, Western sources may be just as
good as Chinese ones.
Here, they mostly agree with Shuowen:
水脈也。从川在一下。一,地也。
which shows that 水脈 means "underwater stream", despite
ABC
