Editor: "pylon" is a familiar term to me, and Encarta gives as its #1 sense ~ "metal tower supporting high-voltage cables". The W article title says "transmission tower" and that's also familiar to me, but ambiguous, because there are TV stations which have "transmission towers" in the hills outside Melbourne.
