Like us, they are struggling; and translating into English adds another layer of entropy. I don't see examples where "endorse" is justified; and 向 doesn't suggest endorse. F's def for this is particularly awful. on N, "中国申奥成功真是人心所向呀。 China's successful bid for the Olympics Games was the will of all the people. " see how that "will of the people" that is lurking in dicts gives rise to hilarious translations? |
