Comment: << review queue entry 37164 - submitted by 'vermillon' >>
Anyone feels it's useful? I was wondering what were the difference between those two, and cedict doesn't really help. Anyway, if you feel it doesn't belong here, the last entry can still be corrected.

Editor: yes, I like it.
no use to refer to 三魂七魄, it's in the dict; if smth must be contrasted, it must be in 魂 and 魄 entries.
Moreover, it is not contrasted with 三魂七魄, which doesn't mean seven mortal forms, there was an unfortunate cut-and-paste in the original entry.
Gotcha! :-)
Diff:
- 魂 魂 [hun2] /soul/spirit/
+ 魂 魂 [hun2] /soul/spirit/immortal soul, i.e. that can be detached from the body/

- 魄 魄 [po4] /soul/
+ 魄 魄 [po4] /soul/mortal soul, i.e. attached to the body/

- 三魂 三魂 [san1 hun2] /three immortal souls in Daoism, representing spirit and intellect/contrasted with 三魂 七魄 seven mortal forms/
# + 三魂 三魂 [san1 hun2] /three immortal souls in Daoism, representing spirit and intellect/contrasted with 三魂七魄[san1 hun2 qi1 po4] seven mortal forms/
+ 三魂 三魂 [san1 hun2] /three immortal souls in Daoism, representing spirit and intellect/
