<< review queue entry 37325 >> I'd just like to add this definition to the one already there and which has obviously been taken from Chinese sources. The Chinese use 报废 when something is beyond repair ie when they see a badly damaged car - ie in the kind of situations where English (Australian ones at least) speakers say 'it's a write-off'. Editor: Yes, I think "a write-off" in that sense has a UK/Australian flavour (I'm Australian, by the way) Yves' suggestion "to scrap" seems good to me. |
