<< review queue entry 37120 - submitted by 'alanwatson' >> Editor: First of all, let's draw a line between "bonds" (债券) and all the other types of securities (equity, futures, or what have you). The term 高殖利股 usually refers to "high yield" bonds (a.k.a. "junk bonds"), not shares of equity. The term 殖利率 does not refer specifically to bonds just like 回報率 does not refer specifically to ROI--as was noted. To refer to "rate of return" people use 收益率, 回報率, and 殖利率 somewhat interchangeably. However, since the English term "rate of return" is ambiguous, I chose to remove it. |

# 回報率 回报率 [hui2 bao4 lu:4] /rate of return/ # The original definition is not quite right. ROI is 投資回報率 (or 投資報酬率). There are lots of other constructs like 資產回報率 where it has other meanings. Juku has many examples of these. # While looking at the change log saw other related points # As you point out, the contributor's original entry of 收益率 can mean bond yield as he/she suggests but only with more specification, an alternative to the option you give is:: # 到期收益率 到期收益率 [dao4 qi1 shou1 yi4 lu:4] / (finance) yield to maturity (YTM)/ # Not sure whether you will think this is a) a construct or b) too specific. Less of an obvious construct is: # 殖利率 殖利率 [zhi2 li4 lu:4] /bond yield (finance)/ # 殖利 殖利 [zhi2 li4] /to make a profit/ # Not sure what to suggest about 殖利. Our definition agrees with MoE's and zdict's, but I can't find any modern example of it being used in that way. Most examples are 高殖利股 (high yield shares) or similar, where I think they are abbreviations for 殖利率. On balance I would suggest deleting it.. - 回報率 回报率 [hui2 bao4 lu:4] /return on investment (ROI)/ + 投資回報率 投资回报率 [tou2 zi1 hui2 bao4 lu:4] /return on investment (ROI)/ + 到期收益率 到期收益率 [dao4 qi1 shou1 yi4 lu:4] /(finance) yield to maturity (YTM)/ - 收益率 收益率 [shou1 yi4 lu:4] /rate of return/earnings rate/earnings yield (finance)/ + 收益率 收益率 [shou1 yi4 lu:4] /earnings rate/earnings yield (finance)/ |
