As far as I can determine, "deadweight" and "dead weight" are just alternative spellings for the same sense (total weight). However, "dead weight" has other senses -- "heavy weight" and "oppressive burden" -- which are not relevant to the definition of 自重. New Century ~ 车皮自重2.5吨。 The deadweight of the wagon is 2.5 tons |
