<< review queue entry 36226 >> The English idiom "It takes two to tango" has a generally negative connotation, its use usually means "Strife requires no less than two people." I'm a Native English speaker, and I've never heard it used in any other manner, so I felt putting it in this entry wasn't accurate unless this phrase can be used in such a negative manner. Editor: "I'm a native speaker" is a common argument, anybody involved in languages has heard it time and again, most often associated with rash and inaccurate statements. Native speakers were in fact not born with innate knowledge of their own language. |
