<< review queue entry 36163 - submitted by 'richwarm' >> "brave" was deleted from the definition, but M says: 梟將 = 勇武的將領 & 梟騎 = 勇武的騎兵 I don't think "ambitious" is part of the meaning of 勇武. Why "fierce and ambitious" --that seems to be based on Z: 2. 勇健:~勇。~健。~将。~雄 (a.强横而野心勃勃的人;b.智勇杰出的人物)。 But does 强横而野心勃勃 apply to 梟 specifically, or is it rather the case that it applies to 枭雄 ? Does 枭 mean "drug pusher" on its own, just because 毒枭 means "druglord" ? Or does it simply mean "villain"? (or perhaps "trafficker"?) Likewise, is "smuggler" justified? That seems to be there on the basis that 盐枭 = salt smuggler (in former times) (FLTRP) But according to M, 鹽梟 = 以販賣私鹽為業的人 and 販賣私鹽 is dealing in untaxed salt, isn't it? (doesn't necessarily involve smuggling?) Editor: objections sustained :-) |
