I hope this is clearer. "Are" is a rare word, and could be mistaken for a typo for "area".

Note: the character ⁄ in 1⁄100 is the fraction slash U+2044 (not the solidus, or "forward slash") --
which would break CEDICT's format.
Diff:
- 公畝 公亩 [gong1 mu3] /an are (=100 square meters, or one hundredth of a hectare)/
+ 公畝 公亩 [gong1 mu3] /are (1 are = 1⁄100 hectare, or 100 m²)/
