I think that the definition becomes unwieldy if we use too many synonyms, or use "somebody" rather than "sb" etc. In that vein, we *could* add a further "to get sb to do sth," "to induce sb to do sth," and so on. But in this case, less is more, I feel. Therefore, I have abbreviated the definition. (However, I don't claim to have found the "best" definition for 讓 :) -- Richard
