<< review queue entry 35149 - submitted by 'richwarm' >> 1 有朋友在找义工,甚至有人为了工作经验,还要出钱给事务所。 2 看见很多青年旅舍在找义工啊! (I don't think they are looking for volunteer workers, are they?) Question: Does 义工 sometimes include workers who are paid for working in a job where they are perceived to have made a sacrifice (as in the case of 支教 in Tibet)? Or are they necessarily unpaid, as in FLTRP's definition (see below)? "义工 yìgōng 1 voluntary work without pay 2 volunteer" Encarta @ volunteer 1. somebody who works without being paid 2. somebody who does something voluntarily, especially something undesirable 3. ... Editor: I did find one example where it was "paid job accepted out of a sense of duty"; not very important. |
