a google search gives over 8 million entries for "flip through", but only 8 hundred thousand for "flit through",
and most of those do not seem related to books.
"flip through a book", is also the phrase I am familiar with. I assume "flit" was a typo.

Editor: Yep, "flip" is better. Lots of ways to say it. :-)
