<< review queue entry 34742 >> English-Chinese / Chinese-English Dictionary of logistics. 2005 edition. Editor: Demurrage and detention charges are two different things. "basically before unpacking of the cargo Demurrage is charged and after the cargo is unpacked till the time the empty is returned to the lines nominated depot, Detention is charged". Given the inherent meaning of the Chinese word, I think this applies to the first one. Of course as this is not my line, I can't be entirely sure. I feel that people who are in the business must be in a position to obtain full information about it, without relying on a dictionary entry. So do not hesitate to correct me. |
