CCD has 脚掌两旁突出的部分 ball of the foot (as well as "cheekbone") Editor: that Baifu ref is, of course, a copy of Zdic. I mean, a copy of the same source Zdic copies. Presumably he would hit them on the ankles. As such it seems an oldish word, I had some difficulty finding: 我左脚孤拐以下发麻是怎么回事？ where it *seems* to be 我+左脚+孤拐 my left ankle. why "ball of the foot"? There are two possibilities; one will appear when I make a submission for 脚孤拐; the second is that this is a common misunderstanding of the English: (web) "ball of foot 就是足踝这个部位的那块圆形骨头"... of course not |
